In their revision courses, students learn:

  • The French pronunciation rules: students learn and apply the French pronunciation rules. These help them improve their speaking, pronunciation and listening skills, which they need to demonstrate in their French exam.
  • Topic based questions in all topic areas assessed in the syllabus: to improve their grades in the speaking and writing papers, students practise topic based questions which are corrected and improved. These changes are designed in such a way to perfectly comply with the criteria set by the exam board to get a grade 8, 9, A or A* in their GCSE/ IGCSE, AS and A-Level French exams.
  • Crucial grammar points assessed by the syllabus:  we also cover and review the most important grammar points on which most students tend to make major mistakes. This helps students answer the grammar questions that are now a crucial component of the IGCSE French exam included in the new 9-1 IGCSE syllabus. Grammar is also a major component in the AS and A-Level French since the introduction of the new structure.
  • Top tips and advice: additionally, we go through top tips and advice that students should follow to successfully tackle their writing and reading papers.
  • Exam-style questions and activities:  throughout the course, all the rules and learning points covered are followed by writing, speaking, listening and reading exam-style activities where students are given feedback to consistently improve the quality of their work to the highest level.
  • Model of A/A* grade work: throughout the course, students are shown with examples that they can follow, how to move from a GCSE/IGCSE,  AS or A-Level grade C to a grade A or A* (8-9).
  • Past exam papers: towards the end of the course, students have the opportunity to extensively do past exam papers in all 4 key skills including oral practices where they answer verbally questions that they might have in their oral exam. The tutor provides them with tips to successfully tackle the papers as well as better ways of answering speaking questions. Pronunciation mistakes are corrected and any grammatical mistakes that are causing them concern are clarified.
